Upgrade to DayZ Server + Map Change

I've put in my request for the latest control panel offered by Survivalservers.com which is the only way to change to newest maps/mods.
It will only take them 5 mins or so, but I will be working odd hours until Sunday Dec 1st. They will leave the current server online for 48 hrs once the new CP is ready.
The server IP will be changing (unknown atm, will post it here/vent asap). 198.154.118.43:4060
Epoch 1.0.2.5 will still be used.
We will run Taviana 2.0 (available on DayZ Commander), most of us already have the Island.

All players will start fresh with basic starting gear, Epoch mod may not allow alterations of starting gear, I'll know soon.

Taviana is much larger, but also has much more looting areas such as shopping malls/larger airports ect.

    Stay tuned

Sounds awesome. My question is how much longer do we have on the current map?

I replied to them an hour ago, so I'm guessing +48 hrs (Sunday morning).
You may go on a rampage in there

Sweet so if I read that correctly we could be playing on the new map by Sunday morning?

I know we will eventually span out on our own but to start are we going to have a main base? Do you know of any places to put a main base that is centrally located like Stary base?

EDIT: Also how do you download the Taviana map for epoch. I see 2 DayZ Taviana downloads but neither make a reference to Epoch.

EDIT 2: I just downloaded the Taviana 2.0 (in process) so I will just assume that whatever magic has to happen to do Epoch will happen when I join your server. After I dld it I will switch back to Chernarus map.

I do not know the Trader areas on Taviana as of yet. When we last played the Island the central/east airport was our central base.
Once we get in.. we can come up with a neutral base, tho I plan on doing the same and putting myself in a high value area for loot
The server will be ready before Sunday, but it might be Saturday eve or Sunday afternoon before I get to set it to our likings such as the buildings not to degrade over the stock 6 days. I also have to add automatic restarts (which this time it's going to give 30,15,10 & 1 min warnings instead of waiting for players to disconnect).

I should know a lot more by Saturday evening, if not after work tonight (my work hours will collide since I have to be back by 5am Sat).

This sounds cool. Does this mean though that we have to get permission from people to travel their high value area? Anyway I know we will all branch out and since the map is much larger that means more space between us and more reason to have shared resource sheds.

    Oh and call in sick.

No permissions needed. I meant that I would set up a alternate base close to a high value spawn area, it will remain available for all to loot.
Anyone whom wish to keep certain items (i.e. Gold) private.. will need to wait until locked vehicles and or items such as a Safe are available to them.

I personally miss Taviana, it is a great Island.

I have no one to call in sick too! I would have to be there to answer the phone

BTW, Survivalservers will recon a message to any players on the server at the time they have to temporarily stop it to transfer data, and then again on the final shutdown.

And to wabbies editing above, Taviana is a modded Island which runs separately from Epoch, it is the Epoch mod that now works on Taviana Island.
In your game expansions section, just enable Taviana 2.0 and you should be good to go, It may need to be 1st enabled (it lets you move them up/down).

That is the one CDN. I am currently playing in a server that is running the 2.0 map with epoch. I will give you the name in a second i have to go look again. Just playing in it to get the lay of the land.

Server is PvP but so far I am the only one on there other than two admins that came on to say hi. One of them hooked me up with some gear and the other one hooked me up with a chopper so I could take pictures and get the lay of the land.

Also @ BEAR: How hard and how much more would it be to have AI controlled Bandits. The server I mentioned above had them and it adds a pretty cool element to the game because not only do you have to watch out for zombies you also have to watch out for the bandits. They also carry some pretty high end gear and equipment. I got a SCAR M17 AR off of one and a MK48 off another. Also they had food and bandages and other stuff. Whatever the cost of adding it I think it would be worth it. I would also send you some money for it and also some money to cover any costs should they pull that whole "we need to fix things so it is going to cost you again" stuff you were referring to. Sorry to trail on about the AI controlled bandits but it was really awesome. I will try and get some pictures of the bandits but it is kind of hard while being shot in the face. Maybe a video?

EDIT: I was wrong there are three types of AI controlled bots on the map I played on Bandit, survivor and military.

Here are some pictures so far:

Pictures of the admins sons hide out.

    something his dad built.

    Something for scale.

Screens of the map. Traders are set up totally different than on Cherarus. Where Chernarus traders were for the most part consolidated the Taviana map traders are spread out and not one locations stops for everything. So you have to do a lot of travelling to sell items and do what must be done. I am not sure if admin has to enable certain weapons or certain items but for the most part in the 20 minutes or so i played I found some pretty high end stuff and was hounded by not only bandits but zeek as well. I did enter an area Bear had talked about when he said that they continue to spawn and it was tough to get items and such but seriously paid off in the end, found an M16/203 and a MK12 along with food, drink and AB's.
